DENISE H. ROWAN
Denise
Hallmon Rowan, better known to her colleagues and friends as "Dede", joined
the Firm in August 2003. She practices primarily in the
area of general civil litigation, business law, and local government law. Dede also handles real estate matters
transactions and litigation.
Dede attended Florida State University where she received a Bachelor of
Science in Risk Management & Insurance and Marketing Communications in 1997.
Following her undergraduate studies, Dede attended Emory University School
of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. While in law school, she was a member of Phi
Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity and the Moot Court Society. Dede served on the
Board of Directors for the Moot Court Society and as a member of the 1999
Georgia Intrastate Competition where her team won Best Brief, Best Oralist
and Best Overall. She was selected as a National Member of the Order of
Barristers for demonstrating excellence in courtroom advocacy. Upon
graduation from law school in 2000, Dede began her law practice in Atlanta,
Georgia before deciding to move back to her hometown, Panama City, Florida.
Dede is licensed to practice in Florida and Georgia. Admitted to the Georgia
Bar in 2000, Dede was a member of the State Bar of Georgia, including the
Young Lawyers Division, Workers Compensation Section and General Trial
Practice Section. She is admitted to practice in the United States District
Court in the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia. While practicing in
Georgia, Dede's practice focused on workers compensation defense and
employment discrimination. She presented seminars on topics including proper
handling of employment law claims by employers, a drug-free work place, and
guidelines for employers to properly follow workers compensation procedure.
Dede was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2002, where she joined the Labor and
Employment Law Group and currently serves as a member in the Bay
County Bar Association and the St. Andrews American Inn of Court
