Elizabeth J. Walters is an
attorney and a shareholder with the law firm of Burke Blue Hutchison
Walters & Smith, P.A. She focuses her practice of law in the areas of
Real Estate Development, Real Property, Condominium Law, Land Use,
Governmental, Banking and Commercial Law. She attended the University of
West Florida from which she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a
Master of Arts Degree. She earned a Juris Doctor from Florida State
University in 1994. Prior to joining Burke, Blue, Hutchison, Walters &
Smith, P.A. she served as a Cabinet Aide to the Florida Insurance
Commissioner and as a Cabinet Aide to the Comptroller of the State of
Florida. Ms. Walters is a member of both the Florida Bar and the Alabama
Bar.
Her community and civic endeavors
have included serving as Chairperson of the Bay County Chamber of
Commerce, Chairperson of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce Military
Affairs Committee, Chairperson of the Bay County School Readiness
Coalition, Secretary and Vice-President of the Bay Education Foundation
and Chairperson of the Florida State University PC Development Board.
Ms. Walters also served as a member of the Gear Up Bay Advisory Board.
She participated in the commissioning of the USS Momsen and the USS Mesa
Verde as a member of their respective commissioning teams.
Ms. Walters currently serves as the Chairperson
of the Bay County Economic Development Alliance and the Chairperson of
Enterprise Bay. She also serves as a board member of the Florida State
University PC Development Board, Bay County Chamber of Commerce and the
Bay Education Foundation. A graduate of Leadership Bay, Ms. Walters is
also a member of the St. Andrews Bay American Inn of Court. For her
endeavors, she has received numerous awards, including the 2000 Member
of the Year Award from the Bay County Chamber of Commerce and the 2001
President’s Award from the Bay Education Foundation.
