MICHAEL S. BURKE
Mike
Burke joined the Firm in June, 1998, is a shareholder
and brings significant local government expertise to
the Firm. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1998.
Mike is also admitted to the U.S. District Court, Northern
District of Florida, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh
Circuit.
Mike
graduated from Bay High School in 1988, received his
B. A. in Political Science from the University
of Alabama in 1992, and his J.D.,
Cum Laude, from Nova Southeastern University College of Law in 1997.
Prior to law school, Mike gained local government experience
as an Administrative Assistant to Commissioner Milton
C. Farris, Fulton County Board of County Commissioners,
in Atlanta, Georgia from July 1992 to January 1995. While
in law school, Mike focused his studies on local government
law and earned the Book Award for the highest grade in
Local Government Law Seminar. He was also awarded the
1997 Outstanding Academic Ability in Local Government
Law by the City, County, and Local Government Law Section
of the Florida Bar.
Mike
began his legal career by serving as an Assistant
State Attorney for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit.
As a shareholder at the Firm, he serves as the County Attorney for the Bay
County Board of County Commissioners and concentrates
his practice in the areas of Local Government Law,
Land Use, Real Estate Transactions, Real Property
Law, Condominium Law, and Civil Litigation.
