William S. Henry

       Bill joined the Firm in July, 2001, and is a shareholder of the Firm. He came to the Firm after spending five and one half years with Fowler, White in its Fort Myers office as part of its Casualty Department. His background also includes law clerk experience through the Pinellas County Attorney's Office and with the Sarasota law firm of Dickinson & Gibbons, P.A. Bill focuses his practice on all types of civil litigation matters, including Commercial Litigation, Insurance, Local Government Law, Construction Litigation, Real Property Disputes, Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Claims, Probate and General Civil Litigation.

       Bill graduated from Rutherford High School in Bay County in 1988. He majored in Finance and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida in December, 1991. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida in May, 1995, and was on the Deans List in 1994 and 1995. While in law school, Bill served as the Managing Editor and Student Works Editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy, an inter-disciplinary academic publication. He was the Vice-President of the Board of College Councils and the Treasurer of the Law College Council. He was also a member and Treasurer of Phi Alpha Delta and a member of the John Marshall Bar Association.

       Bill was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1995, the Georgia Bar in 2000, and is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. He is the representative from the 14th Judicial Circuit for the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors. He has served on the Unlicensed Practice of Law committee for the 20th Judicial Circuit of the Florida Bar and the Florida Bar's Law Related Education committee.

       Bill has been active in community and law-related activities. Bill has participated in the Teen Court program, Mock Trial competition, and Young Lawyers' committee and has spoken numerous times to local school groups during Law Week. He has also presented seminars on topics including mediation and settlement negotiation and liability arising from the sale of residential property. Bill has served as the treasurer and board member for Girls, Inc. of Bay County, and will serve as its president in 2005. He is a graduate of the Leadership Bay Class of 2003, and is serving on its Steering Committee. He was race director for the Bay County Bar Association’s Race Judicata in 2004. He has assisted in coaching youth soccer teams with the Fort Myers Christian Soccer League. Mr. Henry is a member of the American Bar Association, the Florida Defense Lawyers' Association, the St. Andrews Bay American Inn of Court, the University of Florida Alumni Association and the Panhandle Gator Club.
