Jimmy Barr is a Shareholder in Burke Blue’s Panama City office. Mr. Barr is certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Circuit Court Mediator, available to mediate matters in a wide range of areas (Please see listing). In addition , he has the certification required to mediate foreclosure cases pursuant to Administrative Order No. A05C09-54. Mr. Barr brings more than thirty years of legal background, business experience and practical knowledge to his practice.

Mr. Barr grew up in Panama City and graduated from Bay High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida in 1973 and receiving his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida Law School in 1976. Mr. Barr has been an active participant in his state and local communities, having served as Vice-Chairman of Florida’s Commission on Ethics, a member of the Northwest Florida Regional Planning Commission, Chairman of Bay Medical Center’s Board of Trustees, President of Bay Medical Center’s Foundation Board of Directors, Chairman of Chautauqua Charter School’s Board of Directors, President of Bay High School Foundation’s Board of Directors, member of Bay Education Foundation’s Board, member of Peoples First Community Bank’s Board, member of Anchorage Children’s Home Board, member of Northwest Florida’s Community Health Purchasing Alliance Board, and Commodore of the St. Andrew’s Bay Yacht Club.

Among awards and recognitions received through the years, Mr. Barr is especially proud to have received the Lauren Meriam Award from the Bay County Chamber of Commerce, the Leon C. Levy Award from Bay Medical Center and to have been inducted into Bay County’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Currently, Mr. Barr is Chairman of the Chautauqua Charter School Board, a member of the Bay Medical Center Foundation Board, the Bay County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the St. Andrew Bay Inns of Court.
